This competition has closed. Congratulations to the winners below.

Winner: dinopoke

Power: “Freeze”

Dinopoke’s description: Corvo has the ability to freeze objects with ice. The ground can be frozen so unsuspecting guards can slip off them into a nearby trap (or you could Possess them to). Door handles can be frozen temporarily to keep doors from opening. Light sources can be shut off with Freeze. You can Freeze walls to use as a distraction for guards away from their patrols. Enemies can be frozen and shattered with the sword, leaving no trace behind. Small objects can be frozen and Windblasted (while Bending time) as lethal long range projectiles. A crossbow stuck on a wall can be frozen and be used a small platform for Corvo to climb upon.

Tier 1 only allows one thing to be frozen at a time and only in close range.
Tier 2 allows up to three things to be frozen and it can be done at a further range. Or instead, it can be charged up to make a large iceblock which could be used to block areas, as a climbing platform or dropped as a lethal object.

Winner: Noah Young

Power: “Disguise”

Noah’s description: Level 1 (Cost: 4 Runes): The Outsider weaves a three dimensional image atop your physical incarnation of the person you are looking at, fooling the eyes of the others for a short period of time. Being seen by the person you are impersonating, being seen in his presence or speaking will dissipate the spell and the player will be revealed. Whale oil systems are attuned to the physical self, meaning that the player will not pass by them unscathed and will be revealed.

Level 2 (Cost: 8 Runes): At this level, the Outsider modifies your voice to resemble that of the target and the spell lasts longer. Being seen or heard speaking by the target, or seen in his presence will dissipate the spell.
Whale oil systems will still recognise the player as Corvo. Enables the player to speak as an enemy:
- As a guard, he can make another guard follow him. (“I’ve heard something – follow me.”)
- As an officer, he can send guards off duty (“Go grab a smoke, you’ve earned it.”) or make them follow him. Guards off duty will go the barracks if available, or stay in a spot to smoke / talk to another guard during a short time (5 to 10 minutes).
- If the target is one of the objectives (Campbell, Pendletons, etc…), possibilities vary (Campbell has the prerogatives of an officer even with officers, while a Pendleton twin will not be able to make them go off duty but can make them follow him).

Winner: Gabriel

Power: “Mortal Mistakes”

Gabriel’s description: This power drives images of their greatest shames into the minds of men. This can cause a variety of effects, depending on the person. For example: Insatiable rage causing them to lash out at anything around them, dampening of senses, or just plain confusion and disorientation. There would also be certain characters that are completely unaffected, which would alert them to interference, causing it to be risky in certain environments.

However, these would mainly be certain civilians or targets, going by the assumption that the various Guards and Street Gangs would be much more likely to have committed horrendous crimes, where as civilians, such as the party-goers in the Lady Boyle level, are more likely to be relatively innocent. This mechanic would be great because it would create a large range of interesting situations and scenarios.

I propose i deployable Arc Pylon: Running off a small Trans battery, once dropped, it will electrocute all enemies within a small radius, exploding at the end of it’s duration for an even smaller radius. (This is to trade off against the obvious overpowered shocking power by giving off a noise to attract guards). While this item is not the most stealthy, I at least feel it fits well within the lore of the universe.

I propose a thrown discus that bounces off solid objects and can be primed to either paralyse on contact (continuing to bounce) or explode.

There’s something a touch vampiric about his abilities, in particular that he can blink from one place to place (similar to super-speed) and being able to possess rats (as opposed to turning into one). I’d like to see a new ability which allows Corvo to turn into mist, a la Dracula – exceedingly useful for seeping under frustratingly locked doors for one thing!

  4. By Monica, November 18, 2012 at 8:25 pm

To cup his hands and imagine any object he needs and have it start to form in his hand..from his brainwaves!

    Lifedrain:
As long as you’re uninterrupted, you can continuously drain the life of your target at the cost of your own mana.
Of course the mana consumption to life return ratio would be high, because mana pots are easier to come by than health.

    Freeze:

Tier 1 only allows one thing to be frozen at a time and only in close range.
Tier 2 allows up to three things to be frozen and it can be done at a further range. Or instead, it can be charged up to make a large iceblock which could be used to block areas, as a climbing platform or dropped as a lethal object.

    I call it: The Carlton.

Corvo starts dancing like Carlton from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, rendering guards hysterical with laughter. This then allows Corvo to sneak past unnoticed.

  8. By Cherie Davis, November 19, 2012 at 6:52 am

I say the ability to be able to morph into some kind of sand rat creature that can swim thru any object the way sand snakes, sharks, moles etc do thru sand

  9. By Caroline, November 19, 2012 at 7:36 am

The power of foresight will be advantageous to Corvo by allowing him to achieve his objectives more readily by knowing where his enemies can be located.

  10. By BizziBill, November 19, 2012 at 7:57 am

Corvo needs Final Retribution, Final Retribution would be a total wipeout of all creatures and machines in the area he’s in and would only occur if Corvo is dying, if he’s going out he may as well take the rest of the “population” with him.
